My husband hates cleaning the bathroom. He will do dishes, vacuum, even dust before he’ll wipe down the toilet. In fact, to my best recollection, in the 6 years we’ve been married he has cleaned the bathroom only four times….make that five. He must have been vying for the “Best Husband Ever” award last week, because he cleaned both bathrooms. That’s right – showers, sinks, and toilets.
Needless to say, I performed a very embarrassing happy dance.
Don’t get me wrong- my husband pulls his weight with the chores around the house. But he somehow manages to talk me into cleaning the bathroom…and I manage to talk him into doing the dishes and taking out the trash.
What task does your character always avoid?

Oh, this is an interesting exercise–and a hard one. My character avoids certain people and certain situations. She avoids thinking about certain things but a specific task…I’m going to have to think about this.

Ok, this one is a bit hard. I don’t know if I know my character well enough yet. Hummmm let me think. I am going to use my newest character’s because they are the freshest in my mind. Sally would avoid shoveling snow. She doesn’t mind cleaning her house and keeping it clean, she doesn’t mind mowing her lawns, but when it comes to the cold she avoids anything to do with it. Logan is a hard worker. He would take on any job, but I think he might stay away from house chores if he can.
Fun exercise to get me thinking. Thanks!

Sam doesn’t mind cleaning too much, but she doesn’t have to too much. She’s not a fan of cleaning the bathroom either. She’d dust, vacuum, do the dishes, whatever else to keep from cleaning the bathroom too.
Drew on the other hand hates doing the dishes. She’d chose toilets over dishes any day. And unloading the dishwasher is worse than loading it to her.
Good one Joyce!

This is a really good question! And I don’t have an answer! Wow, I better go find out something my main character hates to do and add a little depth. Great thinking post.

Well, crikey! I haven’t a clue! Confrontation! Yeah, that’s it. My character would rather avoid confrontation at all costs.

Alexis most definitely avoids folding her clothes and putting away laundry.
She lets Bonnie do it for her. But even Bonnie gets sick of it, so the majority of the time, her clothes are just laying all over her desk and chairs and even on the floor and such.
Other than that, she’s a fairly clean person. Doesn’t mind chores too much. Which is surprising, given her privileged upbringing..

Kate hates computer work and any inside chores. She’d rather re-roof a house than vacuum a floor.
