Space the final frontier…
You’ve all heard these words many times. Right? So today, we’re writing about space. Whether it’s looking out you window and imagining yourself there, or your characters live there, doesn’t matter, you write the story about space.
The first picture is self explanatory, the second is of our solar system, and the third is Cone Nebula, located in the H II region in the constellation of Monoceros.
I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with in this writing exercise.

Lexi’s heart crashed against her chest. Her stomach twisted in anticipation. It had taken so much longer to return than she’d anticipated.
Earth.
Would he remember her? Would he have dismissed her as a dream?
The blackness of space engulfed her. In the far distance, the Milky Way Galaxy held the key to her happiness. To life.
Her own people—her family and friends—had chosen life in the H II region in the constellation of Monoceros. She had been banished and stripped of the powers the gods had given her for refusing a life with them. When she chose to return to Earth, to Kayden, she had been looked on as a deserter, a traitor. Now the only power she possessed was that of travel, and once she found Kayden that too would be taken.
The small communicator buzzed in her hand. Her mother had attempted to persuade her to return everyday for over two years. She ignored the call. She hoped when her mother knew how happy Kayden made her, she’d accept Lexi’s decision to follow her heart.
Stars raced toward her.
Pluto, then Neptune passed.
Almost there.
Six Earth years had elapsed since their meeting. What would he think of her now, without her powers?
Lexi’s body trembled the closer she got to Earth. The protective field encompassing her built up painful pressure as it dropped her into Earth’s Ionosphere atmosphere. She screamed, feeling her mind would explode. She’d forgotten the pain.
Her body slowed once inside the Troposphere. The pressure released and she landed gracefully in Barberville New York.
