WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
It’s probably obvious that pictures and music are a huge source of inspiration for me, but I’m also inspired by scent. Often a certain odor can pull a scene I’ve been working on into a whole new direction.

The ocean. A lake. The river. The sulfery or salty, fresh or minerally scents of water can deliver a scene to me on a silver platter. I think I may have been a mermaid…..

A problem. I start with plot. Give me a problem, and I’ll write a book to solve it.

Random characters that I draw inspire me. I draw one and I’m like, “Woah, he/she’s hott!”
I proceed to make up character bios and with an assortment of people, I create a story. Pretty cool, huh?

I wish I could draw anything other than stick people.
Right now, feeling very inspired, but having a hard time writing.

I usually need stillness when I’m struggling with my writing. If I lie calm and let my mind roam with my characters it usually overcomes any obstacles I was missing. Sometimes that means I was forcing them to do something they wouldn’t do. And Sometimes it means they’d do something even more extreme.
The silence inspires me to fill the space.
