If it's a new day, the file gets a new name!! It's helped because there are even days (not just weeks) where my story goes somewhere different. I've made it a habit to save my work with weekly dates. I know it might be cumbersome and totally cluttering my file, but it has helped alot! 6 months ago I wrote a scene that I changed a month later when I realized it would take my book a totally different direction. Today I was writing a scene and instantly thought of the stuff I had taken out - after a bit of searching - voila! Instead of creating a headache trying to recall what I liked so much about it, I had it right then and there and with a bit of tweaking it fit :) Steena Good thoughts!
